The FOLKC Christmas in Candyland Ministry gives children from financially challenged households
a Christmas experience that will raise their self-esteem and them positive expectations for the future.
We try to minister to children 12 years of age or younger who qualify for our assistance.
In the past we have partnered with local schools to locate children that would not have much
in the way of toys and gifts for christmas because of lack of household funds.
We have allowed the faculty of the schools to select the students who they feel meet the criteria
to qualify for our assistance.
Once a year during Christmas week we hold a banquet where we fellowship with the children and their families
who have been selected to participate that year. During this "Christmas In Candyland" banquet we provide
the families with a nice catered meal and the children with a variety of different toys and games.
We also try to provide each child with a brand new bicycle to take home with them.
Many of these children would receive nothing for Christmas if not for the generous donations of people like you
who understand the vision and help us be a blessing to the children.
It's all about being a blessing to the children and giving them hope for a better tomorrow.
During "Christmas In Candyland 2014" Your Donations allowed us to minister to :
50 - Fifty Students from Caddo Heights Elementary School
7 - Seven Students from 81st Street School
3 - Three Students from WRW Folk Art Academy
4 - Four Homeless Families
7 - Seven Children from FOLKC

Christmas in Candyland ministers to children from financially challenged households
in the Shreveport - Bossier City, Louisiana area. Christmas in Candyland's only mission is to enhance the childrens Christmas Holiday experience by displaying in a tangible way the love of Jesus! Jesus still cares and he wants
to express it through you and me.
